About the Artist

Hi, I’m Katt, the artist behind Blush & Blood Artistry.

My journey into special effects makeup began when I was 10 years old. I was fascinated by the magic of transformation and how a few materials, colors, and techniques could completely change a person into a character or creature. What started as childhood curiosity quickly became a lifelong passion for storytelling through makeup.

That passion eventually led me to pursue my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinema Production, where I studied the art of visual storytelling and character creation. Film school deepened my appreciation for the role makeup plays in building believable worlds, helping me refine my skills in creating cinematic effects and realistic transformations.

After school, I continued developing my craft by working in haunted attractions, where makeup had to be bold, durable, and convincing up close. Creating looks for long nights under intense lighting helped me sharpen my techniques in gore, creature effects, and immersive character design.

While special effects makeup will always be where my heart started, I also expanded my artistry into more of the glitz and glamour side of production makeup, discovering a love for enhancing natural features and helping clients feel confident and radiant in front of the camera. Today, my work blends these two worlds, the elegance of beauty and the creativity of special effects.

In addition to my work as an artist, I now educate and work with elementary students, sharing my passion for creativity and hands-on learning. Teaching has become an important part of my life, but I continue to keep my love for makeup alive through Blush & Blood Artistry, where I bring both beauty and special effects to life.

Whether it’s soft glam, dramatic beauty, or a full horror transformation, my goal is always the same: to create an experience that celebrates creativity, confidence, and transformation.
